Interesting, Shel. I have pretty pretty much a 50:50 mixture of K's and A's (with only a couple of M's and an M*, a couple of AF's, a couple of F*'s, and an FA* in the mix) (so maybe it's only about a 40:40 K:A mixture - <g>). However, I have never had the misfortune of having an A lens malfunction. I do see that the A lens build quality is generally not as good as in the K lenses (which is one reason why I have a lot of those K lenses), but I can't personally fault the A lenses I have for ever letting me down.
