Well, I had fun taking the half-dozen or so shots I took before selling my SMC Takumar 500/4.5 + 1.4X (700mm) lens. But the 400/5.6 PKA is ever so much lighter and so much easier to set up and use, esp. with manual focus. I've decided that 400 is plenty focal length for me.
