Couldn't Pixsy could just have a google alert set up to notify them
whenever they are mentioned (and indexed by google)?
I just looked at your original post on this in the archive and plugged
this sentence into google, putting it between quotation marks:
"I had signed up some time ago for a Pixsy invite but apparently missed
it when it came."
Only one hit came up and it went right to the pdml.net archives.
I assume a google alert would have noticed that you were talking about
pixsy and let them know (assuming that Pixsy had set up an alert.)

For the record I'm not having a problem and no one I know is having a
problem. I was just trying to figure out how a Pixsy rep got my email
and PDML subject line. (See my post from this morning in the Pixsy
thread for more info).

There's also the automatic confirmation email where you have to "click
the link" for verification. If that ends up in your junk folder you
might not notice it.
Doesn't gmail sometimes do that with list messages?

Seriously Darren, nobody approves PDML memberships, Doug Brewer runs the
server, but the process is automatic. You subscribe which registers
your email address, and away you go.
If you know someone who is unable to join and post it's most likely a
problem with their e-mail client not using the right format.
Well it could be something else. I experienced a really stupid issue
once, entirely my own fault. I have several e-mail accounts that I
access through the same Thunderbird mail client, I was trying to send
e-mail to the list through an account that I hadn't registered. Since
it wasn't registered the list just ate them. I checked every other
possible problem except that one first.
Most likely if someone isn't able to post it's because their email
client is trying to send HTML, not plain text.

That is all. Thanks in advance.
