If you did that filtering right, you wouldn't block any list member.
If you had looked carefully at the invitation e-mails coming from LinkedIn, you'd see that the "From:" address actually looks like this:
   From: FirstName LastName  <[email protected]>

And while this will be my last message on this thread, - let me debunk
one more myth: the addresses collected by Thunderbird's address book have nothing to do with any messages sent by LinkedIn or FB. When you let them in into your webmail (such as Gmail, Yahoo, ..) - they analyze all the messages in that account and use addresses collected from there. Those are essentially the same addresses, but not via the mysterious mechanism that you've suggested in your another message on this thread.

Again, the key to all of this problem is to never let ANYBODY (any websites) your e-mail passwords.
