Dan, I agree with Darren's compositional comments.
Also, on all 3 of my monitors (home, work, laptop, all calibrated) the rocks are distinctly purple and the contrast is rather high. Are you shooting jpg or RAW? In either case, things might need some adjustment. I've noticed more-than-Velvia saturation in your Hawaii pics from previous years, too.
