What Malcolm said. I scan transparencies with an Epson 850 pro, and it
does a superb job.
You got me excited, but I can see almost a thousand reasons why I don't
buy one.
Thing about the Epson though is it is truly multi-format and you can
scan up to an 8x10 negative/transparency without having to stitch images
together.
I have the V750-M Pro, and the 850 is pretty much the same scanner with
LED light source replacing the cold cathode light, giving it slightly
faster start-up & slightly lower power usage. The included slide &
negative holders are supposed to be more robust than those included with
the V750-M Pro.
If you already have the V750-M Pro, you can order the V850 Pro slide &
film holders separately.
