I didn't know Rawtherapee existed until yesterday. Just installed on UBUNTU 12.something and it works fine. It's a 7-8 year old Samsung laptop - quite high spec for the time, with a multicore processor, 8Gb of memory and 500Gb HDD - and the only thing that might slow it down will be the onboard graphics. If I pixel peep, it takes about 5 seconds for the image to re-render (demosaic) when I move it.
