It depends on what Adobe does. I know DXO doesn't recognize DNG files from the *ist-D series of cameras even if they've been translated from the PEF using the latest version of Adobe DNG Converter. If the camera tag isn't one that DXO Optics Pro recognizes, and has a module for, the software will not render the file, even though it will display the embedded jpg thumbnail. So far Adobe products haven't displayed that particular anal behavior but Adobe could decide to do that for "quality" purposes.

It should recognize .DNG files without a problem. The RAW files won't
be recognized unless Adobe releases a point update with camera updates
that includes the K1. They may just wait for v7 (if there will be
such a thing).

I agree Larry, I have two LR6.4 licenses and 5 to 6 introduced two
features that I really use but overall it has slowed to a crawl for
some of the stuff I do. My main edit WS is old now but the performance
deficit that moving to V6 imposed had little to do with my hardware,
it's just buggy.

I'm on Lightroom 5.4 and plan to stay there for the foreseeable
future.

The only future concern I can see on the horizon is whether PhotoShop
CS6 (NON-cloud) will be able to recognize K1 .dng files.
