I've read a few previews of the K-1 at a number of different sites, and a lot of them make a big deal of it's backward compatibility with K and M lenses. The only site that actually went into any detail was the Pentax Fora where they described the green button kludge. To those of us who've used Pentax DSLRs this isn't a big deal they have all done that, since the first or second firmware update for the *ist-D. Wide open metering, /that/ would be a big deal.

One of the lenses I use regularly is the M 85mm f2.0. On film it was a little soft wide open especially away from the center of the frame, (probably because it was designed primarily for portraits), on APS-C digital it's pretty sharp wide open corner to corner, more than good enough for the resolution of up to a 16mp sensor.

Unfortunately I use it a lot in very dark available light situations, because it's relatively fast, and compact, (really about the same size as a 55mm f1.8), and using stop down metering it's really easy to run out of the meters e.v. range and get very bad suggestions for exposure using the green button.

I was really hoping to get an aperture simulator back almost entirely for that lens.
