at the moment I'm hoping to get it for UNDER $200 but don't know..
The calendar is like the wall calendars I get every year on cafe
press... except bigger.. for the 13 x 19 I found
the Epson ultra premium persentation paper MATTE worked perfectly... the
non photo side took the calendar grid
and doesn't bleed through when I write on it. ...each calendar is
13pages, including the cover.
I need a printer all the time anyway... and once having used the r2400
I'm hooked. I can make presents for
friends, and I can make the calendar grid look better than the cafepress
one. If I skip getting the comb binding done
at my local Fed ex, I can probably keep the cost down to under
$20each. I'll still keep doing the cafepress ones to
sell...
The r2400 fit here, so the 1900 should - but thanks for the Costco
suggestion... however, Costco is useless for me -
and no where near me either.

Ok let me tell you why I want one... I want to print matte 13 x 19 wall
calendars next year... mainly for myself and
my friend Joe (who has done more for me in life than I can ever repay
and always wants a really bigbig calendar of
flowers ) but possibly to make a few to sell to other of my friends here
who want a large one..
The R2400 filled the bill - is this r1900 close enough to this to get
pretty much the same results?
I notice that the ink isn't too expensive...
Another thing to consider is that if you can settle for 12x18, Costco
has great printers, publish the ICC color profiles and 12x18 prints
are $4 each. I'm not sure that you can print them yourself for that
little money, once the dust has settled, even neglecting the cost of
the printer. If you don't have access to a costco (or a membership
card), if you sent me the files, I could get them printed for you and
just mail them to you. Starting out at $200 for the printer, that
means the first 40 or so prints would effectively be for free.
I also suspect that there may be a couple people on this list who
already have much better printers who would be willing to run off a
couple dozen prints for you for a nominal fee, or failing that a
pro-photog friend of mine may also be willing to do that. There is
also Bay photo, a bit pricier, but top notch work.
Unless you have a lot of excess space in your apartment, and cash, I
suspect that the printer probably falls into the category of things
that are cheaper to rent than to own.
This is the listing, btw, on ebay - and then there is one on Amazon
too..

Figure another $200 -$300 I could manage. The guy is in NH so the
shipping isnot too terrible. I might not win it of course...
The other one I saw was on Amazon - there were several , actually, but
most from sellers with low ratings.
If cafepress had not stopped making 11x17 calendars I wouldn't even
think of buying the large printer...
So, does this alter any of your thoughts about it?
tanks!

Guys -
Could I have your opinion on this printer??? I really do need a wide
carriage, this one I might be able to get very inexpensively
Have any of you used it?
The listing is over in two days.. I have time... I can put it on a
credit card..
I'd pass on this one; it's a little too old, technology-wise. It uses
pigment inks, so print longevity shouldn't be an issue, but it's an
older ink set that doesn't use the multiple black inks for good B&W
printing that I think you need.
