Thanks a lot, Malcolm! Malcolm S. wrote: > Hi Lasse, > If you have a map of London, Portland Place starts from opposite Regent's > Park Underground Station (behind Park Crescent) and heads down towards > Regent Street and Oxford Circus. The BBC radio building is in Portland Place
Yes, that's where Jimi Hendrix recorded a couple of his Saturday Club performances. (Was the BBC "Playhouse Theatre" also in Portland, or at some other BBC-studio elsewhere? And on Regent Street there used to be this well known recording studio - now, which one was it?) > and worth a photo or two. I'll keep this in mind for a future visit. >I believe the hotel was turned into a private hospital. If you or anyone happen to know just anything more about this hospital, I'd be most interested to know. I got an idea. Why don't we set up picture trades on this list? Some of you might want to trade pictures of racing cars, bugs, pets or birds etc... Me, for instance, I'm willing to offer a 1-to-1 trade for a good picture of St James Palace and the (old) Portland Hotel. (One time newspaper publishing rights included.) I've got some Stockholm pictures, jazz, sports, boats and more to trade... just ask and I'll see what I've got. :-) (but seriously). Lasse > Malcolm > > > Btw.
