By 1973, the first computer I ever worked with in an office was a Kienzle - 
storage by magnetic
strip on ledger cards (approximate 40 x 30 cm) !  At least you had the hard 
copy and the digital
store in one place: disadvantage was if you lost or damaged the card you had no 
record left.
