Thanks for you input. The extra reach of the Tamron would have been nice to have, but I decided to stick with Pentax. Also, I believe the Tamron takes 72mm filters, and I already haver several 67 mm filters that I use with other lenses. The notion of having to pick up a couple of 72mm filters struck me as undesirable. Those things aren't cheap, especially a circ. polarizer. So I went to B&H Photo and bought the Pentax today. Will give it a tryout this weekend. An aside -- had an MZ-S in my hands for the first time while waiting for another item to come from the warehouse.
