God ideas. Haven't worked. It seems to like being spanked. Just asks for more. 
And when I turn the film sprocket, it just free-wheels. I tried "rewinding" the 
thumbnail-on-sprocket trick, still no change. I am thinking it is an issue with 
the shutter release per se. The shutter release seems to be cocked and ready 
but there is no resistance when I depress the release. 

I'll contact the seller - I got most of my money's worth just with the lens, 
but I was looking forward to a working film camera to do a few rolls for 
old-times sake...
