Just to join the theme, I have both an ME Super and an Super Program. Tried the
ME just to
confirm the battery is dead. Haven't tried the Program, in fact I bought it
used years ago
along with an attached M-50mm F2 lens. I, honestly don't believe I ever put a
roll of film
through it. May go to The Battery Store and stump them for the first time. :(

I have 3 ME Supers. (One bought new & the other two from a job lot I
bought). One still works perfectly, one doesn't fire occasionally & the
third fires only intermittently. From what I have read, a CLA (Clean, Lube &
Adjust) service is necessary. Are there still techs who can do that?
Apparently the grease on the many levers & pivots hardens with time, causing
the problem. I tried leaving them in the sun which helped for a while but
the problem recurred after a couple of hours.

Damn! I had an ME Super with the same problem that I tossed about a year
ago. I should have tried that.
