Update - Fri Jun 10: I found a stand-alone installer for a new Windoze Update Client from Feb 2016. It took about 20 hours to download & install. But it seems to have helped. I've got a list of the dates updates were released, so I install only the updates from a single date. The five from 11/10/2015 downloaded and installed in less than 5 hours.
Every time I use Windows, I appreciate OSX just a little bit more, and the more I use OSX, the more I appreciate Linux.
