My Humble Opinion :
These days, for color, the predominant emulsion is C-41 due
to the proliferation of minilabs on every streetcorner. The
days of the "discriminating amatuer" using E-6 in substantial
numbers are long gone. One is hard-pressed to even find on-spot
E-6 processing except in major metropolitan centers' "pro" labs
nowadays. Pentax has merely "moved w/ the times" and set the
default metering sensitvities toward what the masses are using.
Any serious slide shooter will "zero-in" their metering anyway
and use the tried & true "ASA adjustment method" to bring the
auto-metering into compliance w/ their tastes - or at least one
would hope they would know to do this should initial results
from the factory be lacking.
