Hello Steve, I have lived in Scotland while working for General Motors in Motherwell near Ardrie & Peterhead up North near the oilfields.
The Scotts are "high thinking & simple living" type folks. Very un-materialistic and most of them are minimalists. Their stark lives are in contrast to that of the rest of the UK. So I believe they think & respond with their brains rather than their hearts. Their vote to remain with the EU is more to do with the greater humanistic European thinking & democratic ideals, their art & culture. Then also they get greater support & sympathy from Europe rather than Britannia. For centuries the Scotts have only received humiliation & treachery from the British. One ridiculous law was that a newly married Scott couple had to send the bride for the first night to the British Governor. What a shame. Their dislike for the British is at once visible. How many of you know that the Scottish Pound is a different currency from the British Pound before the Euro?? Regards.
