Rick, the extra RAM and an SSD will do wonders for your system. Shop
around though as $600-$700 sounds high to me.

The question of will it be worthwhile depends entirely on how hard you
work the system. What size files do you edit? (Ie: APS-C or FF?)  and
do you do a lot of post-processing? Eg: lots of layers in Photoshop.

If your editing is light, then your system once upgraded will work
very nicely for you. I was able to get significant work done on a very
similar system as yours until last year when my processing needs went
up.
