Oh dear.. thats awfuL!
No, of course I assume I"m NOT immune - but it is quite remarkable I've
never gotten even the slightest bit of it, given all the trapsing around in
the woods I've done... I know of several occasions where I did brush
against itaccidentally and nothing happened.. but of course that could
change
over the years too, I guess. squirrel grass out west got me once.

Ann, glad you liked the photo.
I had never had poison ivy (though I know I was exposed to it) until
about 10 years ago. There was a large patch of it by the front door of
a vacation cottage we rented, so I got thick rubber gloves and a
disposable body suit and pulled it all out. OOPS! The rubber gloves
were latex, and urushiol (poison ivy oil) waltzes right through latex
(I learned later). A week later I was covered, head to foot, in a
weeping itchy rash; it took a week of prednisone for it to clear up.
So, don't assume you're immune--you might not have had an adequate exposure!
Best to stem your curiosity and leave it alone, though.
Cheers,
Rick

Happily, I've never gotten it - can't imagine that I always saw it in time
to step aside... maybe I had some when
a child and developed immunity... it -is- pretty.

The lovely foliage above the wall is all poison ivy.
It was rash of me, I know.
Comments (and more puns) appreciated.
