Ok, didn't realize these were school affiliated. Thought it *was* "Little League".

Pop Warner is not a school league. It’s an independent business like Little
League. There’s no official name for elementary school football in most places.
Here, the leagues have names, but I don’t know what they are. The level of play
is designated as either Junior Varsity and Varsity, borrowing the terminology
high schools and some colleges use. So I just shortened it to junior league,
which evoked something else altogether. Much ado about nothing.

Pop Warner maybe?

Yeah, Junior League is a women's volunteer organization. Bad choice of words.
The football classification is usually called JV here, but that also applies to
9th and 10th grade programs. It's all a bit fuzzy.

"Junior League" used to have an entirely different meaning back in the day.

Subject: GESO: Junior League Football

I love shooting kid’s sports. Nowhere is there more passion and action.
These kids are just 10 to 12 years old, but they’re fit, strong and
motivated. They’re also well schooled in the intricacies of the game. I
don’t like the physical danger part of it, but the rest of it is great. I
guess it’s a tradeoff, although I wouldn’t mind seeing them play flag
football. In any case, a number of these kids are the children of my
neighbors, and I really like shooting football. The players are nowhere
near as fast as those toy cars I shot a couple of weeks ago, but this still
requires some discipline. The K-1 is a much better sports camera than I
would have thought from reading the reviews. I had very few misses out of a
couple hundred shots. The key is continuous autofocus, single point and a
9-point field. Piece of cake.
