Actually knowing the culture of Facebook, it's more PC standards than US TV standards from 1950 though in some cases it's hard to tell the difference, in others it's not hard at all. I guess you could call it a bluenose convergence, but with homosexuality thrown in.

Sadly, not even Western standards. More like American network TV
standards circa 1955. They claim to be sensitive to world wide
cultures, so you'd expect a most strict interpretation, but they don't
require women to be clad in burkas.

There's lots about Facebook that's irrational.

In Zulu culture, especially in the rural areas, it is quite normal for women
to be bare breasted. I heard a Zulu photographer on the radio the am
bemoaning the fact that he too had been kicked off FB. He made the point
that it was irrational to judge Zulu culture by Western standards.

Not to mention tits and bums.

Best left unmentioned, I fear. I am on my second 30-day Facebook
suspension in 90 days because of them.

Do they employ a Titfinder General or do they rely on your friends and
neighbours to denounce you!

They do have some image analysis algorithms -- deeply flawed -- that
they unsuccessfully employ. These only manage to annoy legitimate
posters. Most of the time they rely on snitches (a mix of enemies, Mrs
Grundy's and self-appointed Net.Cops) to report images and links.
