A friend asked me to photograph his daughter's bat mitzvah this weekend.
He'd like to have video of the ceremony, put a camera on a tripod and
let it go.    I've got a 15 year old JVC, also a K-3 and a K-3 II.  I
know that the early pentax SLRs would only video for a few minutes
before having to stop and restart.

By the way, I'm willing to do this as a favor for a friend, he's willing
to pay me. Neither of us have any idea what professionals charge. It'll
be about 6hours with ceremony, dinner and party. Anybody have a rough
idea what it would cost him to hire someone that does this for a living?

Day rate $1200.00 - $1500.00 for a full day; $150.00 - $200.00/Hour for
a partial day; time & a half of the hourly rate if it goes over 8 hours.
Additional flat fee for editing and/or standard post-processing.

Plus travel expenses if they have to come from out of town & stay overnight.
