John's numbers would have been accurate at one time, but digital has changed that. It's easy to find a good photographer her who will shoot a wedding, ceremony and reception, for $500 now. That's a no prints, turn over the files rate. Videographers are widely available for $300. Yes, some still bill at higher rates, but they're starving.
