I've been lamenting the small size of the K-1 buffer, but some back of the envelope calculations make me think that the big culprit might be bus/transfer speed. I'm finding it very tough to find actual sustained write speeds of SD cards, all of the ones I'm using these day list 80-95 MB/S on the front, but that might just be burst speed. At 80 MB/S, I should be able to continuously shoot and store a frame every 1.5-2 seconds. If that were the case, even if I fill up the buffer, I should only need to wait 1.5-2 seconds before there's room for another shot in the buffer, but I often find myself blocked out for far longer than that.

It's kind of moot, because as long as I'm using high end cards, there's nothing much I can do to improve the transfer speed, but I have an aesthetic preference for complaining about the right thing.
