Dan, I'm not trying to raise your BP. There is plenty cr*p on the web. I agree that Vulture is the correct terminology, Buzzard seems to be used colloquially as a sort of common name. There is a lot of that in SA too. The "real" birders get quite hot under the collar when the "uninformed" use old or common names in earshot. I think some people get a warped sort of pleasure doing it. That's why I never got into birding groups - it immediately becomes a sort of competition.
