It's a very nice photo, with a very quiet peaceful feel to it.
Interesting, the right side of the bookshelf gives the photo both a
"square composition" and a "horizontal composition, and the photo is
well composed in either case.
The plane of focus seems to be on the handle of the coffee cup and the
piercing, but not on her eyes, which doesn't make sense, unless you were
shooting up at her. I think it might just be the sharp, hard edges make
those more prominent. Looking more closely, her knee and shoulder also
seem to be pretty sharp. I think it might have been improved a bit if
the field of focus were further back so that her hair was sharper and
her knee was less sharp.
Did you, by any chance, get any shots of that pose from about two feet
to your left of this one? Or was there too much clutter to the right of
the bookshelf?
