I considered getting one of those but after thinking it over decided not
to - I can't see what niche it would fill.
The infinity to 2:1 sounds ideal for a field macro lens where you might
want ot quickly work different subjects at widely different levels of
magnification. But to me that is offset bu the lens not being A
compatible which not only hinders the ability to meter quickly but also
limits any auto modes and use of TTL flash. Plus, 60mm is not ideal IMO
for field macro work.
In the studio the stop down metering / manual flash would not be an
issue and the 2x magnification would probably be more useful, but then
its really easy to get high magnifications in the studio from standard
lenses or enlarger lenses or whatever. The ability to focus to 2x would
be great, but there is less need for infinity focus (unless you have a
really big studio).
As cool as the lens sounds I could not see how I could really take
advantage of the inifinty to 2x feature.
The final coffin nail for me is that I already have a DFA 50mm f2.8
which is an excellent lens. It might be a somewhat different story if I
did not already have that (and a few other really excellent 50mm lenses).

Thinking of getting one of these, they make it in Pentax mount too...
anybody have any experience with one? The 2:1 sounds great.
