Compared to every other Pentax offering, it's great. I forget, where do you live? Is there anybody with a K-1 in your neighborhood that could let you play with it for a while? If not, I suggest renting one for a few days and give it a try.
Seriously though, I'd say just buy that used one with the 28-105 that someone posted here. At that price, if you don't like it you could get your money back on ebay (or to one of the people on this list).
