My two year old iMac 5K is handling 50 Mpx 645z raw files just fine,
P.J. And I stack up a lot of layers in Ps when I'm retouching; no
slowdowns there either. Editing is zippy and painless.

Consumer desktop, 50+ megapixels, no issues.

Re unlimited budget: this Fuji and 2 lenses, or the 645Z and 2 lenses,
very similar to a FF pro Nikon kit. Same ballpark anyway.
