Well I decided to give them one more chance, and downloaded their "Free"
version of version 10. Seems I don't have enough system memory for it
to run properly, the system should have enough memory, but that's the
symptoms. I don't use it enough to care actually. I've got the Nik
software downloaded and have for a while. None of it will work directly
with my ancient copy of Photoshop, so I've been slowly figuring out
which ones are worthwhile to use as stand alone utilities. The one I
miss is the DxO Mark Film pack, but hey that's life. It works in DxO
Optics Pro just not Photoshop.

For me all their goodwill evaporated when I installed an earlier free
trial and it screwed up my Adobe applications so thoroughly I was
forced to delete and reinstall both Lightroom and Photoshop to get rid
of it. Wouldn't touch their plugins now.
Try the free Nik suite, P.J.

So On1 offers Perfect effects 9.x for free. Except after a while it offers
minor rev. update, which they don't tell you will invalidate your free
license as the free version is now the free trial version... But it's even
better because of course the free trial period started on the day you
installed the "free" version so it's no longer free, and your trial period
has expired.
Do they not see that doing crap like that will just lose them good will. I
can't imagine buying a product from them now.
On1 has every right to run their business any way they want, I have every
right to not patronize them. That's just idiocy.
