Hello all once again, All of two people turned up on Saturday, myself and Bob Walkden. Better than just one I suppose :)
Bob showed me around the good camera shops, and he tried to tempt me into buying some Leica gear. He took my photo during lunch and I'm sure it'll end up on the web somewhere. I should have been holding my K2 instead of his Leica. People might think I'm a rangefinder nut. There was not a lot of Pentax gear to be seen anywhere. The most interesting stuff was a couple of 6x7 lenses. I was tempted by a 165/2.8 but it was a little on the pricey side. I came out feeling a little disappointed, I had hoped that the central London shops would at least be better than the NZ ones. When we'd finished looking through the shops we ended up taking some photos of a demonstration, something about Palestine which I didn't really pay a lot of attention to. Then Bob accompanied me to the Imax theatre where I wanted to see a movie, and we went our separate ways. I was highly impressed by Imax... the brotherhood format of the motion picture industry :) It made me miss my 6x7, sitting unused at home. I definitely want to see some more but once again I was disappointed, this time by the lack of a merchandise shop. I lost my cap in Heathrow and had thought that an Imax cap would make a good replacement. The trouble is that the only money I spent all day was the Imax ticket. I need to find some good Pentax gear :) Cheers, - Dave. - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List. To unsubscribe, go to http://www.pdml.net and follow the directions.
