This is true, but most people have to try, at some point in their life.

For me, the K-3 II with an arsenal of lenses, mostly old and older,
will be my main kit. But I never thought I would really like a small
camera the way I like the Sony RX100 V. It is my first experience with
an EV, and I've not liked the idea in the past. I get it (at least on
this camera). The ability to shoot 4K video and up to 960 slow motion
for a few seconds (think hummingbird: 3 seconds of real time turns
into a 90 second clip) with great optics in a package similar to the
old Minox 35, is (in a word) incredible. It is a camera that should
always be in a pocket. Likewise, the DJI Mavic Pro makes you look at
the world in a completely different way - thinking about how you could
put a "tripod in the sky" to take HDR pano still shots or overhead
views of interesting things. The only capability I lack right now is
an underwater camera but, living in Nebraska, I really don't have much
need for that.
