Eight months after I started it, I sat down to try and finish up my K-1 review. I thought I sent it to the list, but it seems that the email monster ate it. If it never does show up, and people are interested, I'll give it another try, I'd certainly like to get some other viewpoints on some of the things I've noticed, or possibly answers to some of the questions still hanging.

If it were me I'd put a formatted web page out on a shared link and then just supply a link.

It's interesting to see how my perception of certain features has changed in the intervening time. When I first got it, I thought the third control dial was really awesome, but now I rarely use it.

A dedicated ISO dial would have been nice, if all the controls were pretty much dedicated. Unfortunately, Ricoh went for looks and flexibility, so it's a do lots o' things dial, which a lot of which most photographers probably don't do that often.

It's also interesting to be reminded of all the features that I thought would be great that turned out to be useless duds, like wifi and tethering.

Part of the problem with tethering is that it's useful in a studio, but then you might as well use a wire, you're better off at any reasonable frame rate, as wireless just doesn't have the bandwidth to handle big image files. WiFi is great for sharing low res images.

Another issue is that from every review I've read of every camera that offers WiFi, camera makers just don't do WiFi applications very well.

You might use WiFi more if the connecting apps were better or the images lower resolution, but why then are you shooting with a high res DSLR and not your phone?
