Paul, Way to go!
This is a wonderful idea - I've done it myself for friends weddings/birthdays etc. and they seem to be appreciative of it! I'm with Frank on this and I would love to hear how it turns out! Cheers, Dave -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Paul F. Stregevsky Sent: Monday, May 20, 2002 7:44 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: My Bat Mitzvah gift Last night I was at my synagog's annual auction. I ran into a girl who used to attend Sunday school with my daughter. She informed me that her Bat Mitzvah is in two weeks at a local hotel in Rockville, Maryland, and that my daughter is invited. "Do you have a photographer?" I asked. "No, she said, "we decided to spend the money in other areas, so we'll just be handing out disposable cameras to the guests." I immediately asked my daughter and wife if it would be OK if I offered to photograph the event (including a Bat Mitzvah dance) as our gift. Amazingly, both consented. I asked the girl if she would like that as a gift. You should have seen her beam. I'm nearly certain she approached me to hug me but backed down at the last second! Then I found her dad and told her of our arrangement. He, too, was delighted. I showed him three prints I had on my from the synagogue's inauguration in April. "I'll shoot the ceremony without flash so everything is evenly illuminated," I said. "This is what the shots will look like." "That's me and my son!" he said, pointing to the pair seated next to my intended subjects, a man and his small daughter. So I gave him the photo. I'll pay for the film; the girl's father will pay for developing. I'll let everyone know how it turns out. Paul Franklin Stregevsky - - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
