One way to do it is to scan through a batch & mark all the minimally acceptable images with one star.
Then change the view to show only the one star images & sort through them again to actually look for the better images. Mark 'em two stars & repeat going through the two star images to find the three star images ... I no longer actually delete images. Electrons are cheap nowadays.
