Well,
It took me a while to get around to it... (i.e. I was a lazy bum yesterday)
but I finally did "it" this afternoon :)
My first 2 rolls of hand processed film in 22 years (at least) are hanging
out to dry (not in the microwave a la Jeff *smirk*).
Thanks to all who helped out when I had questions Re: Determining Clearing
Time and thanks to His Lordship Aaron for the cheat sheet, the choice of
chemicals and encouragement. Makes me feel like I was 14 or 15 again and in
high school developing photos for the school yearbook :)
This opens up a whole other world for me (at least) because now I have the
ability to push process and do other neato keen things to the film while
processing. This also, of course, saves me $6.00 for every roll of film I do
process ("process only" developing at the lab I usually go to is $6.00/roll
of 36). I can see the developer lasting a few rolls or more and I can
definitely see stop bath and fixer lasting me about 3 to 4 months... that's
a lot of film.. and a lot of time to practice with the cameras :)
I was using Microphen this time with T-Max 100 film. Brendan did tell me
that ID-11 will work with everything but so does Microphen according to
their packaging. I'll be sticking mainly to T-max and Ilford Delta films -
any other suggestions out there for developer ?
Joyfully,
Dave
