According to Ford Motor the 2.3L Ecoboost in the Mustang is rated at 310hp (231 kW;314PS) @ 5500 rpm, 320 lb ft (434 N m @ 300 rpm and is available in the states.

The specific output is 134.7 hp/liter - When we were racing Ford four cylinders in the 70's in the SCCA and IMSA, the best specific outputs were in the 125hp/liter and these were full race engines with 2 weber side draft carbs and definitely not very streetable.

I had a couple 1985 Merkur XR4tis with Ford 2.3l turbo fours, but that was
completely different from the Ecoboost engines. I think I recall that the
XR4tis made 170-180hp.

Not sure what the output is from that 2.3L but 2.0L Ecoboosts are putting
out up to 280 hp.

A nice shot in unhappy light. I'm surprised they put the little 4-banger
in a convertible, but I guess your gasoline is expensive.

The second Mustang for sale at our local Ford branch, this time a 2.3L
Ecoboost convertible. Costs about $60000 here. Only a year ago this was a
GM agency. They are apparently selling about a vehicle/day, mostly Ranger
Bakkies & Everest SUV's. Unfortunately the timing was all wrong for the
Stenquist technique. Sorry, Paul
