I agree.  They look pretty good.  One test that I did where I was less
happy with my scans was to compare an 8X10 print from the scan and an
optical one from the lab.  In my case, the lab prints were visibly
sharper than my scanned prints.  This is not the case with my 35mm
stuff on the Minolta Scan Dual II.
