I would probably go with the 400 for these (personal reasons):

1) the 400 will probably have better IQ since its a prime
2) 4.0 beats 6.7
3) if you really need the reach of 600, then modern sensors with a 2x
crop might just be good enough with a prime.
4) A* enough said...
