The only fly in that thinking is that CS@ does recognize the camera as a K3.
CS2 does all the things I need Photoshop to do.

I'm using CS2 as well, I don't think that CS2 recognizes any new makers
information that was added after it's last official update. The fields are
there but that version doesn't know how to interpret them. I have a
similar issue with CS2 and the K-5II. It's not annoying enough that I want
to upgrade to a version of Photoshop that's up to date with all of the
cameras EXIF information.
