BUT?

The pupose of the gyro is to allow the lens to be hand held. If you have the
camera on a monopod attached to the boat the gyro would be trying to
stabilize the whole boat. I do not think you could afford a gyro big enough
to do that <GRIN>. OTOH, I would guess you could easily find one that could
handle the camera, lens, and gyro.

Why not rent one and give it a trial, before spending the big bucks on your
own unit. I would think that a place that rents equipment to TV cameramen
would likely have a rental unit.
