I think this depends how the shutter speed selecor assembly works. Also, it might work only for speeds under X synch (timed speeds), not higher speeds which are set only by curtain width not timed. Or again, it might not or work for all speeds. This really depends on the design.
I will look at a Spottie / MX/... service manuals, it might be guessable from the exploded parts lists. Also, next time I fire up my shutter tester, will try with Spottie (my only fully mechanical Pentax now, as LX and K2DMD don't count). Frantisek - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
