Hi Zos Thanks for the suggestions but things are becoming even weirder...
It seems that the camera is actually recording the Maker Notes. I just checked the metadata on the SD card for recent images and all metadata is present, but the Maker Notes are missing for those same images that had been copied across to my hard drive. What's even more frustrating is that I can't now reproduce the problem. I just took a couple of photos, copied the images across to the hard drive - and all metadata is present. I need a drink...
