No. I routinely shoot hand held, with no problems with lenses up to 200mm. I don't have anything longer than that. The 6x7 is really well damped, and while you definitely feel the mirror slap, there is no residual vibration. A tripod changes all that, as they can sing a bit. I think mirror lock is important if you are using a metal tripod under a 6x7, but handheld, it doesn't seem to be an issue. > > More in general, what do YOU see as strong points for the 67 versus 645 for > landscape/nature ? How about future developments (digital back) ? I like the extra negative size. Also, I do my own black and white printing, and prefer the orientation of the 6x7 negative in the carrier. I am not interested in digital backs, but for those who are, I expect the 645 is the more likely candidate for one. It's design will facilitate one easier than the 6x7. I don't see weight as being an isuue, a 6x7 and a few lenses is easily carried, and a Manfrotto 055 tripod will support the 6x7. > > About image quality, I feel the step from 35mm to 645 is much larger (3x in image area) > than 645 to 67 (1.6x in image area). You will see a huge difference going from 35mm to either 645 or 6x7, but probably not a lot of diiference going from 645 to 6x7, unless you make very large prints. My standard print size is 11x14, and at that size, I see no difference in quality between 6x7 and 4x5. > > The ideal would be to have both of course, and use the 67 lenses on the 645 too, but > that would not fit by budget at the moment :-) I had the opportunity to compare the 645 and 6x7II a few weeks ago. The 645 was really very nice. If the image wasn't sideways on the film, it would be a great format. For me, this is a fatal flaw that makes the format unacceptable.
