No it is not. For example, the most recent group attempt on my own spawn was made by getting five or so at a time to pose in line. Numerous shots were made of each of those groups. Then the best versions were composited into a panorama of the class. Although the resultant output was not cheap it worked really well, allowing each child some spontaneity. Your merchants seem to be engaged in the classic race to the bottom that we all know and love so much.
