Thanks for the comments. They do low Platte River flyovers in the morning to do a count. Word is that my group of 7 was part of a group of 11 (the other 4 were still on the river). Between Wood River, NE and Kearney, NE they counted 37 Whooping Cranes this morning. Going to keep my eye open on the way home.
