How steady can you hold the camera with the 300 on it? Now, how steady can you hold it if the lens were resting on a fence post of convenient height?
The way I see it, the 1/focal rule applies to an average person hand-holding his average rig on an average day. I got reasonably sharp results hand holding a ZX-5n with 50mm at 1/8. Held my breath and everything. Pentax ninja. I want a monopod so I don't have to concentrate so much on NOT MOVING. Also, a good and heavy 'pod could serve as a night-stick in a pinch. As a single female, I always feel safer carrying a tripod. I might even start jogging with one. :) --- Joseph Tainter <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Does anyone know how much is gained using a monopod > in terms of > reduction of necessary shutter speed?
