That looks good, too, but probably wouldn't work for me due to using a
heavy duty Otterbox case on both iPhone and iPad. I have one of the
early iXpand and even that is workable but difficult to attach. The new
design from SanDisk is a straight shot into the lightning connector that
looks like it will work with most cases no matter how sturdy. They're
at a good price point right now. If I didn't already have one...

I use these, 64GB capacity. If you have your images organized in folders within

Works well.

I download the jpgs from my camera to my iPad, to view along the way, to share
along the way, and as a backup in case my RAW files are damaged/lost somehow
before I get back home. When I exceed my iPad capacity, I dump a bunch onto one
or two of these…

I've been moving away from LightRoom to other software so I use a SanDisk
iXpand to move stuff around between PC, iPhone and iPad (works with a Mac,
too). It has a Lightning connector on one end and a USB connector on the
other. With SanDisk's free app it makes short work of transferring photos as
well as other files to and from an iPhone and/or iPad. It's a couple extra
steps but works well.
I like this, Paul. It seems like it would make getting images off the phone
much like getting images out of a camera.
Big question I have has to do with selecting images. I wouldn’t want to do
automatic download to the SanDisk device. I’d prefer to be able to select
select the images to be downloaded. Not just to select, but to select by group,
e.g., all images from a certain date or in a certain album.
Alternatively, if it’s possible to select files on the SanDisk device by group
when I go to download to my notebook, that would work.
Tempted to just go ahead and buy one, but if my selection concern is not
addressed I would be disappointed. It’s the main thing I’m trying to find a
solution for.
