I think I'd take a K70 over a KP, they have almost the same sensor, pretty much the same features, but a more useful flip out screen on the K70, the same battery ,  but I'm pretty sure better battery life on the K70.  More importantly every grip that the KP to comes with is reported to be less comfortable than either the K-70 or the K-3II.  The only thing a K70 seems to lose out on is the Alloy body, and more retro design of the KP, and the GPS in the K-3II.

I also think the soft controls and top plate status screen make more sense on a digital camera than the pseudo mechanical controls on the KP.

The current price for a K70 seems to be about $200 less than a KP as well.

Personally I'd take a K-3 or K-3II since it's probably a bit more rugged than the K-70, and the sensor is also pretty much the same if you plan to do most of your processing in RAW outside the camera, and I'd actually prefer a K-3 because I'd rather have a pop up flash in a pinch, rather than a built in GPS, but that's just me.

The recent cash back action made me wonder if I should upgrade my 6 year
old K5 to the KP.
Full frame is not what I need since most of my glass isn't full frame.
Which results in the K3-II as the only other option.

What I don't like on the KP is the small new battery size and the missing
LCD panel. The tilting screen is what I most like.

Probably they release a new flagship APS model the moment I buy a KP.

Any other reasons I should or shouldn't get the KP?
